Another weekend, another beautiful wedding! This past weekend a very sweet couple was joined together in Northern Michigan. The glowing bride, Katherine, was an absolute joy to work with on her custom suite. The ceremony took place outdoors at the bride’s family lake house, but this was no casual backyard wedding. The team at Sincerely, Ginger outdid themselves on this weekend, working tirelessly to create a dreamy celebration accented by feminine florals and the most elegant little details which made every moment all the more memorable.
I knew from our very first meeting that letterpress was the way to go for this custom suite. My plan was to frame in each piece's text with whimsical watercolor florals. In order to have both the elegant tactile quality of the letterpress as well as the colorful brightness of the florals, I ended up doing a combination of digital and letterpress printing.
I had a blast painting a petite rendering of the lake house for the save the date. This piece set the tone for the rest of the suite early on.
The strong theme that we had built together during the suite design process carried seamlessly into the pieces for the big day. As I mentioned earlier, no detail in this wedding was overlooked. I designed signs to encourage people "help capture the love" by using the couple’s hashtag, arranged a large escort board, and even created a custom decorative marriage certificate. Welcome baskets contained a details card with the cutest little map of the couple’s favorite eateries and special spots on the reverse side, each location noted with a specially made miniature illustration.
One of my favorite pieces was the menu-- simple and elegant, echoing the florals from the save the date and featuring Grandma Miller's cookies!
Congratulations to the Married Maxwells!
